Hello there,
May is my favourite month to spend lots of time in Brighton, there’s so much happening, including The Brighton Festival, for music lovers The Great escape and for lovers of shopping, art and all things handmade its Artists Open Houses.
This year I am very happy to be taking part in 3 houses alongside many talented and creative people:
The Cicada House with Cat Brown ceramics, Karen Rao felt artist, Jude Turner button creator, Helen Van Der Linden mosaics to name but a few.
The Trojan House with David Bennett painting & printmaking, Troy Ohlson paintings, etchings & prints and many more.
As well as taking part I love having a look around as many houses as I can fit in. Last Sunday I managed to get to a few and my favourite of the day (other than the lovely houses I am in) was Peggy Poppleton’s Shop it was right up my street.
I fell in love with the papier mache animal heads by Emily Warren and the beautiful ceramics by Naomi Flowers glazed with the prettiest colours.
If you get a chance to visit any of the Open Houses I am sure you will fall in love with something and you won’t be disappointed.
Happy May
